Fire damages Clearwater church steeple

CLEARWATER ? Firefighters extinguished a small blaze Thursday evening that damaged the steeple of a Clearwater church.

The fire was reported at 6:50 p.m. at Light of Christ Catholic Church, 2176 Marilyn St. It took firefighters 10 minutes to contain the fire, which was confined to a fiberglass steeple on top of the church, officials said.

There was no damage to the main building, officials said. No one at the church was injured. The cause of the fire was under investigation Thursday night.
